STW Rural Transportation Plan
Southern Tier West Regional Planning & Development Board has been contracted by New York State Department of Transportation to develop a Regional Rural Transportation Plan for the Southern Tier West Region. This regional transportation plan will incorporate input from all levels of government. State, county, local governments and the Seneca Nation of Indians will be solicited to provide input during the data collection phase as well as setting priorities in the areas where they feel improvements need to be made.

This transportation plan will be sensitive to economic development, environmental issues, and quality of life. The transportation plan will consist of current pavement/bridge conditions, travel patterns, local projects and their potential impacts on state, county and local roads. The plan will also incude: an inventory of existing and potential corridors and their effect on system continuity, transportation linkages (roads, rail, aviation); multi-modal system needs; an inventory of public transportation; and an assessment of transportation safety.

Whether you are a local business, local resident, or someone who spends a lot of time on our regions roads; your comments are important to us. Your input will be used to focus planning efforts on our most urgent transportation needs, provide for a plan of action, establish long range goals, and help set priorities for each member county and the Seneca Nation of Indians.

Print a copy of the county survey that is applicable to your position, record your suggestions, and return it to Southern Tier West, 4039 Route 219, Suite 200, Salamanca, NY 14779 c/o Brian Paschen. You may also fax it to (716) 945-5550 or email your responses to bpaschen@southerntierwest.org .
