Towards the end of 2020 and beginning of 2021, STW surveyed representatives of service organizations about the current and future (the next year) impacts of COVID-19. Respondents could select “worse in ways that could never be imagined (7),” “exceedingly worse (6),” somewhat worse (5),” “no change at all (4),” “somewhat better (3), ”exceedingly better (2)” or “better in ways that could never be imagined (1)” for areas developed out of preliminary interviews with county leaders organizing coordination of the COVID-19 response between service organizations. This includes the current and future impact areas of Physical Health, Mental Health, Food & Nutrition, Housing, Education, Child Care, Senior Care and The Economy. Averages were calculated on the Likert Scale in order to rank these areas according to their impact.
Cross-tabulation reveals the distribution of responses for both the present, and looking forward.
Presumably, the perceived impacts of COVID-19 on different areas of the region include, or account for the government and social service response. For each impact area, respondents rated how satisfied they were with the local government and local service organization response to each impact area. Responses included “Very Satisfied (1)”, “Somewhat Satisfied (2),” “Neutral (3),” “Somewhat “Dissatisfied (4)” or “Very Dissatisfied (5).”
