  1. Guidance for Establishing Effective Intermunicipal Agreements 
    Intermunicipal agreements can optimize your municipality’s resources through sharing of equipment and personnel along with collaborating on services or projects.  However, it is important to establish a formal agreement that outlines responsibilities, roles, and expenses involved along with decision-making processes.  The presentation will cover the essential language and contents of an agreement, along with key guidelines to ensure proper protections and effective risk transfer are in place to protect your municipal resources from third party liability claims.​
  2. The Benefits of Being a NY Planning Federation Member
    The New York Planning Federation is dedicated to the education and training of New York’s local Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals members. This session will provide an overview of the New York Planning Federation and the benefits and services it offers its members. Questions are encouraged.  
  3. Clerk's Responsibility for Charitable Gaming, Licensing, NYS Gaming  (via Zoom)
    A brief overview of the laws and regulations governing the issuance of licenses to authorized charitable organizations seeking to conduct games of chance and bingo.  The presentation will review how a municipality files games of chance or bingo local laws that has been enacted, with the Gaming Commission.  We will also review what is required when an authorized charitable organization files a license application with the municipality.  The presentation will provide detailed information regarding the forms and fees that are required as well as compliance by the organizations with financial reporting after the games have been conducted.
  4. Mayors & Supervisors Roundtable Q&A 
    Join our panel of “seasoned mayors and supervisors” for a roundtable discussion on the duties of the office, changes to procedures, NYS Legislation, and more. This will be a structured open forum for you to have your questions answered. There’s always something new to learn!
  5. Community Host Agreement for Wind and Solar 
    This presentation will go through the approval steps/processes for Community scale (local approvals) and Utility scale (NYS approval process) for solar and wind energy projects, and how Host Community Agreements (or Community Benefit Agreements) are included and dealt with in these processes. Examples from actual projects will be utilized in the presentation.
  6. Statutory and Case Law Updates
    From the Green Amendment to the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act through numerous court decisions on renewable energy and SEQRA, New York law governing planning and zoning continues to evolve.  This session will review the major recent developments and provide guidance on implementing changes in the law.
  7. Summary Proceedings - Back to the Basics
    DWI and DMV Point Updates
  8. ​This presentation will cover a broad range of issues commonly handled by the Court Clerk, including suspension pending prosecution, suspension pending a DMV refusal hearing, and eligibility for hardship privileges. Also, discussion on the duration of driving privilege suspensions or revocations at sentencing.
